Dehang Miao Village in Jishou City
Dehang, also known as a “beautiful canyon” in Miao language, is known as the hometown of drum in the world. Dehang, hidden among the mountains and rivers, has a beautiful and pleasant environment, and one can also feel the unique Miao customs.

Aikou Village has a tea garden area of 17,000 mu (about 1,133 hectares). Tourists can experience tea picking, watch the production process of traditional handmade tea, taste tea meals and relax themselves here.

Professor Shan Qide, a China’s top architectural design expert, hailed Baisha Town a modern version of “Along the River During the Qingming Festival”, a famous 12th-century scroll painting.
In Xinzhaiping Village, you can see lush primitive secondary forest, century-old trees, and well-preserved characteristic buildings. The village has been selected as a Chinese village with ethnic minority characteristics, a national key village for poverty alleviation through tourism and a provincial demonstration village for beautiful countryside.
Mawang Creek Scenic Area is located in Mawangxi Village, Pushi Town, Luxi County. The ecological agriculture and sightseeing tourism industry in the scenic area is flourishing, and the boutique ecological leisure park has taken shape. Tourists can experience the fun of pottery making and the pottery culture in the quality ceramic park. It’s a demonstration scenic area for rural tourism and leisure agriculture that integrates modern agricultural sightseeing, agricultural cultural experience, and rural leisure vacation.

Yanmen Ancient Castle was built in the second year during the reign of Emperor Yongle of Ming Dynasty, with a long history of over 600 years. And the village custom of filial piety has been inherited for more than 600 years.
“Yanmen Ancient Castle perfectly combines pastoral dwellings and military remains, showing the important archaeological values of the series of military remains,” said an official of the Cultural Heritage of Hunan Province.
Nanhua Mountain Sacred Phoenix Culture Scenic Area is located in Nanhua Mountain National Forest Park. It’s the first national 4A level tourist attraction in Nanhua Mountain and the first fully experienced phoenix culture scenic spot in China. The entrance of the scenic area is adjacent to Hong Bridge, overlooking the whole Fenghuang Ancient Town.
Window of Phoenix Cultural Tourism Industrial Park is located in Liaojiaqiao Town, only 8 km away from the core scenic area of Fenghuang Ancient Town. The park is a comprehensive development zone that integrates cultural creation, product research and development, display and processing, wholesale and retails, entertainment reception, warehousing and logistics, tourism and vacation, as well as inheritance and protection of intangible cultural heritage.
The scenic area is open to the public for free.
Laodong Village is located in the northwest of Fenghuang County, and is one of the first traditional villages in the country, a key village for rural tourism development, and a provincial level historical and cultural village.
Tourists can enter the scenic area for free.
Zhushan Scenic Area is located in the northwest of Fenghuang Ancient Town, surrounded by water on three sides. Founded eight hundred years ago, it’s a well-preserved fort with Miao ethnic customs, architecture and ruins. It’s listed as one of the third batch of characteristic Chinese ethnic minority villages.
Fenghuang Maglev Sightseeing Express project pioneered the “maglev plus culture plus tourism” model, with four stations built along the line, allowing tourists to immerse in the beauty of Fenghuang County.
A comprehensive tourism project that integrates maglev transportation, leisure tourism, cultural exhibition and popular science study has been built.
Zuolong Gorge is located in Hongshilin Town, Guzhang County, opposite Furong Town, with a total length of about 6,500 meters. It has a maximum height difference of more than 300 meters. It’s formed through 3 million years of crustal changes and wind erosion. It’s known as “the first grotesque gorge in South China”.
